Weatherization and Emergency Home Repair Program
Our goal is to assist individuals and families in their efforts to secure and maintain safe, affordable and energy efficient housing. These projects include Weatherization Assistance, and Emergency Home Repair and Housing Preservation programs. ACTION staff completes an on-site energy and safety audit of each home to determine the scope of work and most cost effective measures to give the highest return. The purpose of the Weatherization Program is to increase the energy efficiency and safety of the home. Examples include completing air sealing measures, installing insulation and carbon monoxide/smoke detectors, and combustion safety checks of all gas appliances to make sure they are operating in a safe manner. The purpose of the Emergency Home Repair and Housing Preservation programs is to eliminate or reduce significant safety risks in the home while providing a service that most home owners could not afford. Examples include roof replacement, flooring repair and/or minor plumbing or electrical repair. Program Restrictions - Home ownership is required for Emergency Repair Services and low-flow toilet retrofit services.
